VICTORIOUS CHIPOLOPOLO GET ROUSING WELCOME

The Zambia national team has arrived from Algeria where they beat Desert Foxes 1-0 on Tuesday night to bolster their chances of qualifying for the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Sports Minister Moses Mawere who accompanied to Constantine with FAZ president Andrew Kamanga were aboard the chartered Rwanda Air flight that touched down at 12:40 hours at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.

Hordes of fans turned up at the airport with FAZ secretariat staff and ministry of sports Permanent Secretary Agness Musunga welcoming the team.

Skipper Kennedy Mweene was among those that arrived with the legion of European based players heading straight to their bases.

Goal scorer Patson Daka of Red Bull Salzburg, Enock Mwepu (FC Liefering), Chisamba Lungu (Alanyaspor-Turkey) and Stoppilla Sunzu (Arsenal Tula).
Mweene and Cape Town Ajax’s Roderick Kabwe connected to their bases.

Zambia beat Algeria twice over two days with a 3-1 home win on Saturday before the 1-0 away result that put the Chipolopolo on seven points, three behind leaders Nigeria whom they face on October 7 in Uyo.

Cameroun and Algeria have crashed out of the race and will be playing for pride in the remaining two fixtures.

Vice president, osibanjo visits Benue.

The vice president, professor Yemi osibanjo has visited Benue state to access the extend of damage caused by the recent flood in makurdi.
He was received at the airport by the state Governor, Samuel Ortom.

NEMA gives relief materials to victims of flood in Benue



Succour has come the way of the victims of the recent flood in Benue state as NEMA has arrived the state with assorted relief materials.
The materials included matrasses, detergents etc.

Buhari leaves Monday to USA



Baring any last minute change of mind, President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Nigeria on Monday, September 4, 2017 for a trip to Washington, DC. Buhari’s trip to the US is at the invitation of President Donald Trump. A Nigerian Presidency source said thatTrump had extended the invitation last February, shortly after he was sworn in.
